Ring Of Kerry

Today was our first day of rain. We left Killarney and went to the Bog Village, an 18th century replica of what life would have been. We then were on the motor coach most of the day doing the 110 mile Ring of Kerry. It was disappointing to not be able to get many pictures of the spectacular scenery. Fortunately I had a nice sunny day on my visit this past March and have some nice pictures. I felt bad for those who were visiting for the first time. We stopped for lunch and inspection at the Parknasilla Resort and Spa. A lovely place with large rooms and views of Kenmare Bay. Lunch was a delicious sample of Black pudding, seared scallops, wild Irish Venison, and pear desserts. After lunch we stopped at a working sheep farm and watched how the Border Collie herd the sheep by the command of a whistle or verbal call. Very impressive. It was then time to go back to our hotel in Killarney for an Irish Whiskey tasting. We sampled six types while learning about the making. We were on our own for dinner tonight so several of us went to Murhy's pub and enjoyed our last night in Killarney.
