Beautiful blue skies and about 55 degrees. We left Dublin heading South to "The Garden of Ireland"-Wicklow. Our first stop was the beautiful Powerscourt Gardens. The gardens are well manicured with Italian terraces, a Japanese Garden, ponds and lakes with fountains, and a walled garden with lovely roses. One could spend much longer than we had touring the gardens, but it was time for lunch and an inspection of the 5 star Powerscourt Hotel. Lunch was Fish and Chips. We continued on to a small little town called Avoca and visited a working woolen mill dating back to 1723. They still use hand weavers as well as modern machines. Very colorful bright colors are produced into scarfs and blankets. It was then on to our hotel for the night in Wicklow at Macarrin Villiage the BrookLodge & Wells Spa. The restaurant here is the Strawberry Tree. It is the only certified organic restaurant in Ireland. We enjoyed an orientation on the products used in their fresh meals, and then partaked in a six course dinner.
